What is Safari 3?

Safari 3 is a public beta version of the popular Mac OS X browser, now for Windows. The browser has the fastest loading times of all those available, and makes use of a simple brushed metal interface, similar to that see with iTunes.

...and what are its security features?

Safari by default blocks all pop up and pop under windows. This can easily be changed if desired with the click of the button within the edit menu or with a keyboard combination of Ctrl + Shift + K. Turning on a function called Private Browsing prevents Google searches, history of sites visited and cookies being stored. Safari makes use of robust encryption to ensure all private information is kept that way. With the browser still being a beta version it is likely a number of bugs will remain until fixed in time for the final public release.

Any cool extra features?

Safari has a tool called Bonjour which can identify printers, webcams, and other hardware, which are associated with web servers. Like most browsers nowadays Safari makes full use of tabbed browsing. Safari uses a snapback feature which helps preventing you lose your way in a website from search results. Snapback automatically takes you back to the search results or the homepage of a website with the click of a button. Safari also boasts a built in RSS reader.
